Dec 19th, 2019Planning a two-week trip to an African country is not quite the same thing as planning other international trips. Running to London, Vancouver, or Paris can be done quite easily with nothing other than an overnight bag and a passport. Cameroon, on the other hand requires immunizations, an invitation letter endorsed by local police, itineraries, new passport photos, a visa application, and a packing list including essential supplies (I had never heard of Ben's wipes before my visit to the travel clinic). I've had 5 shots, 3 prescriptions, and another immunization appointment to make for January. Everything needs to be coordinated and planned, including ensuring I get the Visa application in time with all of the requisite paperwork and getting my passport back for other trips I may need to take in January.
As we enter the next few weeks the plans for our trip will become more finalized. All of the pre-requisites will be completed, the lists of lists will be one by one checked off and completed, and I will get more information on my assignments. I would appreciate prayer for the planning of this trip, not only for me, but for the trip leaders and other staff and volunteers who are also going through all the planning and preparation. Pray that financing will be secured for all mission members and that the logistical plans for the trip will be able to be secured and finalized. If you are interested in committing to prayer for and during this trip, please contact me at the coordinates below.
For you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways; To give to His people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins,
Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us,To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1: 76-79
